That was a hard moment for Jason. Play a bass solo with no technique for an audience that saw Cliff Burton. But with his stage precence he won the audience.

I think because Jason was such a huge fan is why he fit in so well, its like he knew what would work well with Metallica like a true fan would

at that time in history there was no other than Jason who could have stepped up and delivered the way he did.....and stayed with it even through all the horrific crap he was put through..... Jason is a legend.

Jason is very skilled, it s a shame that his talent was eclipsed by the great Cliff Burton. In a part of the solo he plays a riff from his Flotsam and Jetsam composition Metalshock.

No he couldn't, he couldn't play anaesthesia, or the solo bits in orion or the call of ktulu which is which is why they were never played with jason ever. I still rspect jason though cos And justice For All if one of my all time favourate albums ever

All down to opinion and taste mate, Cliff was fantastic, top class take nothing away from him he is a Legend! But Jason is OUT FUCKING STANDING!! He can play everything that Cliff wrote plus more, he has a much better command of his instrument and has much cleaner tone. He is also one of the most creative and talented musicians in the world as he can play many instruments where as Cliff just played Bass, like a pro of course. Cliff is a true legend but Jason is a master.To me he is the best!
